Improving Special Education Outcomes by Expanding Training and Collaboration Between Career and Technical Education and Special Education

Project Description

Work closely with the special education department within North East Independent School District to create and plan for professional development for our teachers (special education as well as career and technical education (CTE) teachers) and campus coordinators. This professional development will include how to introduce the students to the different programs of study within CTE at an early age, interest assessments, and closely monitoring the transition piece of an individualized education plan (IEP). This will improve educational outcomes for students in special education and create a more inclusive environment.
