Travis Rand is a graduate of Concordia University and the media marketing coordinator for a Georgetown apartment complex. He has Cerebral Palsy and joined Texas Partners in Policymaking to learn more about how the legislative process works. “I want to learn more about how to advocate and impact legislation by collaborating with elected officials,” said Rand. “I am interested in finding a career path to be an advocate, and I believe the skills I gain will help me achieve that goal in the legislature.”

Project Description

The majority of early childhood centers and preschool facilities in the Austin area are not equipped with the necessary resources or training of inclusive practices. They do not have the knowledge to work with children with disabilities. The purpose of this project is to educate early childhood educators and child development workers on the importance of including children with disabilities into their facilities.
