Courtney Page
Grapevine
Courtney Page’s passion for serving the disability community started right after her brother, who is on the autism spectrum, graduated high school. Page was confused and shocked to find that most services end at age 18, and she has made it her mission to help the adult special needs community. Her long-term mission is to create more affordable, accessible housing in Texas where adults with IDD can live independently and be part of the greater community. Page lives with her younger brother and her husband in Grapevine, Texas.
Project Title
Fueling Housing Opportunities for Adults with IDD
Project Description
Page’s capstone project is the beginning of an inclusive housing initiative specifically for the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Page invites community partners and leaders to discuss the ever-growing need for more accessible, affordable housing for people with disabilities. The project’s goal is to educate adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and help them take their future into their own hands. Through collaboration with local policy leaders, developers, and financial institutions, this project will increase housing options and improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.
