Lauren Cloud of Round Rock applied for the program because she wants to ensure children with disabilities are fully included and accepted in their schools and community. “Through Texas Partners in Policymaking, I hope to become an effective advocate for my son and others like him,” Cloud said. “I want to effect positive change at both the local and nationwide level.”

Project Description

Establish a nonprofit, Belonging Bags, to help caregivers rest more easily while their children with chronic illnesses are in the hospital. Belonging Bags will provide comfortable, personalized bedding so children can get a better night’s sleep. The nonprofit will offer ongoing support to families during a time that often feels very isolating.
