Wendy Kruse, of Seguin, is the parent of a child with a disability. She wants to ensure people with developmental disabilities in the Greater Seguin/New Braunfels community have access to education and other services to help them live independent and fulfilling lives.

Primary Caregiver Initiative

Project Description

Develop a comparative analysis of out-of-state programs through which family members are compensated for being personal care attendants to children under the age of 18. These out-of-state programs will be compared to those offered in Texas. Results will be used to explain current needs in Texas and how programs like these could create stability for families.

This project is a collaborative project with Christa Starkey.
