Amy Turner is from Flower Mound. “I hope to create a supportive community around my son and others with disabilities. I’d like to do my small part to make my town and Texas better in terms of quality of life and opportunities for people with developmental disabilities,” said Turner.

Girl Scout Disability Awareness Workshop

Project Description

Develop a disability awareness training workshop for Girl Scouts of all ages. The goal of the workshop is for attendees to gain a better understanding of what it’s like to have a disability and how to be a better friend to those with disabilities. Training topics will include inclusion, sign language, service animals, and disability awareness.
