Alyson Landry
Houston
Alyson Landry is still growing her Texas roots, having moved eight years ago from Florida to begin her graduate studies at the University of Houston. Since she arrived in the Lone Star State, Alyson has worked with Houston Grand Opera in the Office of the General Director, the City of Houston Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, and for the Houston Independent School District. As a parent of a child with a disability, Landry is focused on building a community. Landry also hopes to learn more about the potential long-term outcomes of her daughter’s rare genetic mutation to help provide a road map for her family and others.
Project Title
Around the Table: Best Practices for ARD/504 Meetings
Project Description
The goal of Around the Table is to make a shift in how special education, 504 meetings, and support implementations are approached on the campus level. Landry also aims to research and create a resource manual for families of students with 504’s and individualized education programs (IEPs). This digital manual will serve as a go-to for questions related to special education meetings.
