Kristen Gooch
Austin
Kristen Gooch is an actress, poet, podcaster and advocate from Austin with cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair for mobility. Gooch hopes to broaden her horizons and branch out into film and television some day. In 2013, Gooch earned her bachelors of science degree in communication disorders from Texas State University. She has been a substitute teacher at the Texas School for the Blind as well as a volunteer for non-profit organizations, Austin Speech Labs, and the Rise School of Austin. She currently facilitates a peer support group called Adapting Sheros for women with mobility disabilities. Gooch is a company member of TILT performance group and Paradox Players. She is a member of a podcast team called True Tales by Disability Advocates through ArtSpark Texas.

Project Description
Adapting Sheros is a peer support group where women with mobility disabilities can come together to find community, connection and friendship, help each other problem solve, and share resources. Members can showcase their talents and abilities or teach fellow Sheros a specific task. This group also allows the opportunity for members to offer support and encouragement to one another in a safe open-minded environment.
