Elizabeth Ferry lives in Austin, TX ,and is a customer service leader for an online travel company. Ferry is married and has two sons. Her youngest boy was born with a rare condition called CHARGE Syndrome. After his diagnosis, Ferry wound up in a new role as his advocate. Since then, she has gone on to work in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion space at her company as an inclusion champion. She continues to look for ways to amplify any voice that she can, whether for her son or others like him. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and cooking, but most of all she loves spending time with her huge family.

Initiative to Expand the Deaf Blind With Multiple Disabilities (DBMD) Waiver Program
Project Description
Ferry is working with a coalition of organizations to advocate for increased funding for the DBMD Medicaid waiver during the 88th Texas legislative session. The project includes creating a white paper and presentation for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and elected officials. The white paper and presentation will outline the need for a budget increase so that the program can serve more people and accommodate cost-of-living adjustments.
