
Brandi Spieth

Brandi Spieth is a wife and mother to four children, three of whom have various disabilities that range in severity and two that have reached adulthood. She is a pediatric speech language pathologist with 22 years of experience and a certified lactation consultant. Brandi currently works in a local children’s hospital. She has experience working with children with disabilities in the school setting, via home health, and in a hospital setting as a rehab therapist. Recognizing the challenges that her patients, students, and own children faced due to their disabilities has spurred her to become an advocate. Brandi intends to amplify their voices, push for policy change, and promote awareness. Her dedication is driven by the belief that everyone, regardless of their abilities, deserves to be heard, treated with respect, and given an equal opportunity.

Project Description
This project includes the development of a social media page in the forum of Facebook. The goal is to identify medical providers and practices that have experience, knowledge and training with the intellectual and developmental disability population. Another goal is to highlight educational opportunities and resources across the state that are available to the medical community. Positive parent and caregiver testimonials will be recognized, as well as areas of need.
