Patricia Firkser is from Dripping Springs. “My goal in this program is to learn how to advocate in different ways for both my son and others in my community,” Firkser said. “Ultimately, as a Mexican American mom, I want to teach other Hispanic parents how to advocate for their kids.”

Social Stories for Teens by Teens
Project Description
Create videos of social stories to help prepare students and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for life after school. The partner is working with her son, teachers, and students at the school to develop these stories. The videos will be available through a website, which will also include resource links, secondary education opportunities, relevant films, and book recommendations.
