Christa Starkey is from Lone Oak. “My goal is to learn about the laws that affect the rights of our daughter, and to then turnaround and use that knowledge to positively impact the communities I serve,” said Starkey.

Project Title

Primary Caregiver Initiative

Project Description

Develop a comparative analysis of out-of-state programs through which family members are compensated for being personal care attendants to children under the age of 18. These out-of-state programs will be compared to those offered in Texas. Results will be used to explain current needs in Texas and how programs like these could create stability for families.

This project is a collaborative project with Wendy Kruse.
