Shontay Olson


Shontay Olson, M.Ed., Ed.D. Candidate is a parent advocate and community educator, and the mother of a child on the autism spectrum. Olson is completing her doctorate in educational leadership and organizational innovation while living out her passion for working and finding innovative ways to improve learning opportunities to bridge the gap between professionals and families with children on the autism spectrum. Olson has years of career experience in social services work in varied capacities serving both children and adults; her career highlights include civil rights work for the state of Texas and advocacy work with our nation’s military personnel and their dependents. Olson is currently the chief executive officer for Neural Divergence, LLC. She is committed to engaging schools, hospitals, and community-based organizations in data and program consultancy and research to improve outcomes for families and children with disabilities, especially individuals on the autism spectrum.

Project Description

Creating Innovative Technology Designed to Serve Individuals with Disabilities aims to provide innovative technology via web-based mobile applications that promote inclusion and upgrade the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families. Through the use of this technology,  Olson created curricula providing training and educational support to organizations’ diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives addressing ableism and other intersectional factors, all elements of social justice.
