Cari Buetow lives in Pflugerville and is the parent of a child with a disability. “Disability rights is a topic that is deeply important to my family,” Buetow said. “My goal through this program is to learn how to effectively collaborate with decision-makers in the community and work toward common goals that lead to improved accessibility and inclusivity community-wide.”

Project Description
Form a new autism community support group, the Autism Pfamily Network (APfN), in Pflugerville and the surrounding area for self-advocates, parents, caregivers, siblings, educators, and professionals. The goal of the group is to support and advocate for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families, focus on community inclusion, and promote a positive and respectful depiction of people with autism and their families.
