Jocalyn Briggs, of Mansfield, applied for the program because she is concerned about the inclusion of children with disabilities in Texas public schools and wants to advocate for appropriate community supports and services. “Through Texas Partners in Policymaking, I hope to become an effective advocate for my daughter and others like her to effect positive change at both the local and state level,” Briggs said.
