Due to unforeseen circumstances affecting the logistics of the program this year, TCDD has paused the application cycle for the 2024 Partners in Policymaking class. Applications will be accepted beginning in January 2024 for the class held from September 2024 to March 2025. For Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, we For Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, we asked some of our Partners in Policymaking Alumni what they wish people knew about #DevelopmentalDisabilities. Leigh Calmes, class of 2021, said "People with IDD have challenges to overcome that their non-IDD peers do not, and I admire them for their hard work and dedication to become the best that they can be, often rising to great success."

The 88th Texas Legislative Session is coming up, a The 88th Texas Legislative Session is coming up, and it is essential that lawmakers understand the issues that are important to people with developmental disabilities (DD).

To better promote the TCDD Public Policy Priorities at the Capitol, we are gathering stories from people with disabilities, their family members, and professionals in the DD field. We are seeking information on how the priorities relate to real-life situations and affect people with DD in Texas.
